UNSW Illuminate is a student project run through the University of New South Wales’ prestigious ChallENG Program. This project combines the creativity of art and the innovation of engineering to demonstrate the magic of art meeting technology through light.
We aim to empower students to apply hands-on skills on large scale, professional and multidisciplinary projects and to foster deep interactions between designers and engineers. Through these aims we hope to allow students to work together to realise and actualise their creative visions while gaining practical experience in the process.
UNSW Illuminate began in 2015 and was originally a project under UNSW’s CREATE Student Society. Following 4 successful years, and the expansion of the team, the project has now grown to become an independent student project, rebranded under UNSW’s new ChallENG Program. UNSW Illuminate does, however, remain in close collaboration with CREATE.
